Meghalaya: The seven Sisters Trail

Day 01: Arrival at Guwahati Airport - Shillong (130 KM - 4/5 Hrs)

Your adventure begins the moment your flight touches down at Guwahati airport. The air is buzzing with excitement, and amidst the crowd, you will find our representative holding a Dream Riders placard, from there you will leave for Shillong via Tempo Traveller.

You travel out of the bustling city of Guwahati, The road winds ahead, welcoming you with gentle curves, and soon, the scenery begins to shift. Verdant hills start to rise on either side. You're travelling through the East Khasi Hills now, every turn revealing sweeping views and cloud-kissed valleys.

As you travel into Shillong, famously known as the "Scotland of the East." After checking into your hotel, you have the evening free. Take a walk around the local market or unwind in a cozy café. Tomorrow, the real adventure begins, followed by orientation where you will meet the tour manager followed by motorcycle handover.

Day 02: Shillong - Grand Laitlum -Shnongpdeng (100 KM - 4/5 Hrs)

After breakfast, the engines roar to life. Today, the ride takes you deeper into the heart of Meghalaya—Shnongpdeng. The first stop of the day is the Grand Laitlum Canyon, Laitlum, which means "end of hills," As you ride, mist begins to drift lazily across the hills. Arriving at the canyon feels like stepping into a dream.

From there, the ride continues toward one of the highlights of this tour —Phe Phe Falls. After parking your motorcycle, a short trek begins through thick forest trails and rolling meadows. The sound of cascading water grows louder with every step until you finally arrive at a view that stops you in your tracks: a two-tiered waterfall crashing into a turquoise pool.

Tired yet exhilarated, you get back in the saddle and ride toward your final destination—Shnongpdeng, nestled by the pristine Umngot River. As the sun dips low, you roll into your riverside campsite, the river beside you flowing as clear as glass.

Day 03: Shnongpdeng - Mawlynnong - Cherrapunjee (130 KM - 5/6 Hrs)

After breakfast, it’s time to hit the road once more, heading toward your next destination— Cherrapunjee, commonly known as Sohra. The day begins with a short cruise to the Indo-Bangladesh border, where the two nations meet over serene waters. From a nearby viewpoint, you can gaze into the villages of Bangladesh, a quiet moment of cross-border connection.

From here, the journey winds upward toward Mawlynnong, a picture-perfect village nestled in the East Khasi Hills. Celebrated as Asia’s Cleanest Village—a title proudly endorsed by Discovery India—Mawlynnong is the epitome of harmony between people and nature.

After soaking in the serenity, you climb back on your motorcycle and continue the ride toward Cherrapunjee. The terrain shifts once again—lush green fields give way to deep gorges, roaring waterfalls, and rolling clouds. You check into your accommodation just as the sky turns golden.

Day 04: Cherrapunjee - Double Decker Root Bridge - Cherrapunjee

After breakfast, you set off on a day that promises wonders. This is a day when your machine rests and your feet take over—for today, the adventure takes you deep into the living heart of Meghalaya.

Your adventure begins with the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Park your motorcycle and begin the trek. A word of caution: It’s a five-hour trek through dense forests and nearly 3,500 steps. Hidden beneath the jungle canopy, the 500-year-old bridge, woven from the roots of trees by generations of Khasi villagers.

Next stop: Arwah Caves, carved out of limestone. From there, the adventure takes you through Meghalaya’s most iconic waterfall—Nohkalikai Falls, India’s highest plunge waterfall. The water tumbles from an emerald cliff into a blue pool over a sheer drop of more than 1,100 feet.

Your final stop is Mawsmai Cave, by sunset, you return to your stay in Cherrapunjee, exhausted but filled with awe.

Day 05: Cherrapunjee - Elephant Fall -Guwahati (170 KM - 5/6 Hrs)

After breakfast, it’s time to saddle up for the ride back—retracing Meghalaya's routes one last time. Today marks the final leg of your journey, but it’s far from over. The first stop is Elephant Falls, where the water thunders gently through rocks and dense greenery.

From there, the road leads you to Umiam Lake. The largest man-made lake in Meghalaya, it glimmers like a sapphire nestled among pine-covered hills. The ride continues, and the hills gradually flatten out. You arrive in Guwahati, the city where your journey began—but now it feels different.

Spend the evening at your own pace: explore the sacred Kamakhya Devi Temple, one of the revered Shakti Peethas, or enjoy a serene sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River.

Day 06: Departure from Guwahati

The morning dawns quietly.The bags are packed. And though the road no longer stretches ahead, the memories of your ride through the abode of clouds linger in the air. After breakfast, you check out from your accommodation, your heart a little heavier. It's time to book your cab and head to Guwahati Airport.

As you look out the window on the way to the airport, scenes from the past few days replays—misty canyons, root bridges, roaring waterfalls, and rivers so clear they defy belief. You came here seeking adventure but leave with something deeper: a connection to a land that speaks through its silence, rain, and rhythm.

This is not goodbye—just the end of one ride, and the beginning of many more.
