CRUCIAL DO'S

Check weather and local road conditions before riding, especially during the monsoon when heavy rainfall can reduce visibility and make roads slippery.

Carry your valid driving licence, motorcycle documents, identification and other required travel documents throughout the journey.

Respect local communities, traditional customs, sacred groves, churches, monasteries and other cultural or religious places. Dress appropriately and follow site-specific instructions.

Wear a properly fitted helmet, riding jacket, gloves, riding pants and motorcycle boots suitable for Meghalaya's changing weather and road conditions.

Carry sufficient cash for the journey, particularly when travelling to remote areas where ATMs, mobile connectivity and card payment facilities may be limited.

Follow local traffic rules and ride carefully on narrow roads, sharp bends, steep sections and roads passing through villages and populated areas.

STRICT DON'TS

Do not overtake carelessly or ride at excessive speed on narrow mountain roads. Be particularly cautious around buses, trucks, taxis, motorcycles, pedestrians and animals.

Do not ride after consuming alcohol or any substance that can affect your concentration, judgement or reaction time.

Do not enter restricted forest areas, sacred groves, private land or other protected locations without the required permission and guidance from local authorities or site staff.

Do not litter, damage plants, carve on living root bridges or disturb natural surroundings, waterfalls, forests and other environmentally sensitive areas.

Do not disrespect local customs, religious practices or community traditions. Avoid loud or disruptive behaviour at villages, sacred sites, cultural attractions and other places of local importance.
